My 23-year-old gelding seems to be something with the space around his cannon bones do have to swell up and not know what to do. Someone told me not to travel because it could be a piece, but I drive very little as it is, should I stop riding these things?

Need peace. Run cold water for 10 minutes. Intervals in inflammation and / or apply some ointment for that purpose, sometimes, to decrease the swelling. Then, when you can start walking and jogging normally mounted. It may take several days.
